Solar Thermal

Solar thermal energy includes all thermal applications of the energy from the sun, ex.:

• Domestic hot water heating
• Space heating / cooling
• District heating / cooling
• Pool heating
• Process heating / cooling (industrial processes, electricity production, destillation)
• Disinfection

The Solar Energy Centre has 20 years of experience in:

• Converting the energy of the sun into thermal energy applications
• Testing solar collectors, tanks, controllers and systems
• Running certification scheme

The Centre operates:

• The national certification scheme for solar thermal components and systems
• The national certification scheme for solar thermal installers
• The Solar Thermal Test Laboratory with EN 45001 accreditation

The annual budget for the thermal activities of the Centre is 5 mio. DKK.
